Standalone mode:
In order to calculate the hiTRAN turbulators required Geometry,
Process and Properties have to be entered into the programme.
You can
calculate tube side performance in standalone mode by entering the
data manually or by importing this data from HTRI or HTFS. In
this mode data for aircoolers (ACOL, Xace) and for Shell & Tube
heat exchangers (TASC, Xist) can also be imported.
Pic 1
illustrates the entry of geometry data.

The
manually changed or imported data can be saved and retrieved at a
later stage using the hiTRAN.SP .hit file format.
Interactive
mode:
In interactive mode, to calculate the whole aircooler design, the
Geometry, Process and Property data are imported automatically
from an .aif (ACOL IntOut file) or .htri (Xace) file. An example
of the imported Property data from Xist can been seen in pic. 2.
The Geometry and Process forms are displayed in a similar way.
