Event Report: GRPC 17 Conference & Exhibition in Mumbai

The Global Refining & Petrochemicals Congress (GRPC) took place in late May 2017 in Mumbai, India with a theme of “The Age of Downstream Transformation”.

This event was created as a platform to manufacturers, technology and equipment suppliers, researchers, to discuss various issues affecting the growth and development of the petrochemical sector.

CALGAVIN had a major presence with a corner location stand, manned by India CALGAVIN technical representative Ashwin Chandarana and Managing Director Martin Gough.

There was a good presence of end-users from refineries/ petrochemicals, service providers (engineers/ consultants) and hardware providers (equipment/ system).

As Ashwin Chandarana (India Technical Representative) confirmed “In my view, this event for CALGAVIN helped create and emphasise the presence in the Indian market, reiterating our interest and future plans in India. Though I have been visiting many potential clients around, I feel it would now make a difference when I approach them – as this event ‘certified’ our presence here.”

The CALGAVIN Managing Director Martin Gough gave, at the Congress, a well-received paper on “Values and benefits of improving the performance of heat exchangers” which explained how plants can save energy, and how this can be achieved with existing plants.
